The Centralia mine fire has been burning since Sept. 27th, 1962 and was started by trash burning in a strip mine up to 300 feet in an 8 mile stretch. At its current rate it could burn for 250 years. The blaze has caused the town to be abandoned. There were 2,761 people in 1890 as opposed to 7 in 2013 and most of the buildings have been leveled. Come see the documentary showing the demise of the little town of Centralia and its people who lived there.
